Easy DIY Infinity Trellis – carla's hoya haven
This trellis is made from 8 gauge wire from Mandala Crafts which makes for a sturdy 10″ diameter trellis. The 10 gauge wire also works well for a smaller 6″ or 8″ trellis. I used a sewing measuring tape to measure the circumference of a 10″ low bowl planter which was 31.5″. I then added 12.5″ – 4″ for each stake and 2″ for twisting plus 2.5″ because nothing I make is perfect.
I laid my measuring tape on the floor and unwound 44″ of wire from the spool. I used needle nose pliers to bend the wire back and forth until it snapped off. I formed the cut wire around the low bowl crossing it at the bottom.
I then twisted the wire around the bottom of the loop to secure the ends and form the two stakes.
I put it back over the low bowl to form it a bit more and get a nice roundish shape. The finished product is below. It only cost about $2 to make. I should be able to get eight 10″ trellises out of one spool. It’s not perfect but it’s functional. It’s also shiny and a pretty shade of green.
